They were beautiful and durable, and they appealed to book lovers who appreciated the quality and fine craftsmanship of the book bindings as well as the book's content of text and illustrations.
The craft of Bookbinding is an old art that has been recently revived. We have chosen the books on this catalogue page as guides that teach craftspeople the traditional methods of bookmaking. And bookmaking is a craft available to almost anyone with a desire to learn. Traditional methods of making books by hand requires no special skills that can not be easily learnt, and most materials that are required for bookmaking are readily available from a good art supply store.
